The Best Smoked Turkey Recipe for Thanksgiving
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Turkey 15-21 lbs
- Orion Pork and Poultry Rub
- 1 bag of Orion custom blend poultry wood chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Wash turkey and pat it dry.
- If you have the time, after turkey has been patted dry, place in refrigerator uncovered for 3-4 hours (this will help remove any remaining moisture on the skin).
- Prior to putting turkey in the cooker, remove turkey from refrigerator and apply olive oil on the skin of the turkey (the entire bird).
- Orion Pork and Poultry seasoning on the turkey.
- Put Orion’s Poultry blend of custom wood chips between the drip pan and cooking cylinder.
- Place turkey on poultry stand and place in cooker. . NO LIQUID in the drip pan.
Note: Cook time, 7 minutes per pound. Enjoy!!
